Voluntering and Training

Volunteering

KITS has many opportunities for you to get involved and volunteer with the sports facility. We are always happy to have new people on board to help out as...

drivers... to help us get the pitch to various locations both around Greater Craigmillar and across the city.

helpers... to set up the pitch... as you will have seen the pitch comes in its own trailer and needs to be set up where ever we go. its takes around 30 to 45 minutes to set up.

what is it???Volunteering means helping out without expecting to be paid but there are occasions where we try to pay you for certain sessions and we always pay expenses so that you are not left out of pocket for taking part. You will not be expected to turn up and work on your own; there will always be other people there to help you.

**All volunteers and workers for the pitch must complete a Disclosure Scotland form

At present we have many dedicated volunteers who bring different skills and experience to the sports pitch. Some of our volunteers come from the local comminty including and adults and young people as well as staff from the the Community Safety Concierge and the City of Edinburgh Council.

volunteer picture Here are Brian and Steve recieving their volunteer certificates from Kenny McCaskill at the city chambers. Both have given between them hundreds of hours of their time to volunteer with the pitch. our thanks goes to them both.

Training
We are able to provide training both on the job and some that give you a certificate at the end.  We are able to organise courses and training for example on first aid, child protection, SFA soccer skills and bronze medallion life saving certificate.

If you would like to volunteer or even find out more, please get in touch either through the link on the contact us page of by phoning 07873 490 317 where you can leave a message and we will get back to you.
